BASFORD LAWN TENNIS DANCE

The Basford Lawn Tennis dance took place at Newcastle Municipal Hall on Wednesday evening. The dance was a great success as regards enjoyment, but the number present there was somewhat less than usual owing to the election and counter attractions. The hall was nicely decorated by Mr. F. Bunker. Mr. E. Garner's band played in good style a very choice selection of music. The music programme was as follows:- Waltz, "Il me disait;" waltz, "Waltz Dream;" two-step, "Whistler and his Dog;" waltz, "Venus on Earth;" waltz, "Lysistrata;" waltz, "Verschwiegene Liebe;" lancers, "Mikado;" waltz, "Kiss of Spring;" waltz, "Merry Widow;" waltz, "Sizilietta;" waltz, "Gold and Silver;" lancers, "Tom Jones;" waltz, "The Druid's Prayer;" waltz, "Songe d'Automne;" two-step, "Yip-i-addy-i-ay;" waltz, "Vision of Salome;" waltz, "Pitchounetta;" lancers, "Dollar Princess;" waltz "Rosen aus dem Suden;" waltz, "Quand l'Amour Meurt." Mr. Herbert T. Heatley was M.C. and the stewards were: Mr. A. P. Ford, Mr. N. F. Gibbons, Mr. C. C. Gibbons, Dr. Hartley, Mr. G. H. Keeble, Mr. W. M. G. Stocker and Mr. J. H. Watkins. The catering was by Messrs. F. Swynnerton and Son who as usual, gave every satisfaction. The arrangements for the dance were carried out by the hon. sec. of the club (Mr. Herbert T. Heatley)
