Tennis double for Basford?

Basford are poised to take two of the titles in the Staffordshire Lawn Tennis Association's junior inter club knock-out competition.

In the semi-final of the under-14 competition at the weekend they beat Wolverhampton and now face Burton Manor in the final at Rowley Park, Stafford, on Sunday.

In the under-12 competition Basford will meet Draycott for the junior crown.

Ian Nicholas completed a happy weekend for the Basford club when he won the under-12 boy's section of the Regional Saab tournament at Wolverhampton in which 24 of the County's top juniors took part.
