Rain hits junior tennis

RAIN caused the Basford Lawn Tennis Club's Evening Sentinel junior singles tournament to be extended to a third day today.

There was just one semi-final outstanding in the under-15 girls event when matches were halted last night and the four finals were hurriedly rescheduled for today.

Matthew Chandler of Endon has reached the finals of the under-15 and under-18 boys while Pat McCausland, playing on her home courts will be defending her under-18 girls title against Basford team-mate Joanne Beresford.
