Staffordshire Junior Doubles Won for First Time

Basford Lawn Tennis Club have arranged to play Walsall in the final of the Alsop Cup on Saturday. This cup was brought to North Staffordshire for the first time by Basford two years ago.

Basford are hoping to win it again and complete a "double" as the junior pair, C. J. Noke and F. L. Wilkes, playing for Basford "B", won the final of the Staffordshire County Junior Doubles when they beat J. Spencer and N. B. Partridge of Wolverhampton L.T.C., 6-3, 7-5, 12-10.

This was the first time the Junior Doubles had been won by a North Staffordshire pair, although Basford have had a pair in the final twice and had two pairs in the semi-final last year.
