Basford Tennis Club...

The Basford Lawn Tennis Club are opening two of their four hard green courts laid by Messrs. Gaze of London on Thursday, the 22nd April, when Miss Joan Fry will play some exhibition singles against Mr. Claude Whitehouse, one of the best Staffordshire County players, from the Wolverhampton Club. It is hoped that the public will give the new Basford Tennis Club their hearty support on the opening day, when they will witness some very good games, and also be able to see the first hard green courts laid down in this district.
